Pig Roast Invitations
originalPIG.jpg
One of my recent side projects was designing an invite for my family’s upcoming Memorial Day Pig Roast. For the past 6 years we have celebrated Memorial Day as an unofficial start to the summer, bringing together old and new friends to enjoy a weekend in upstate New York.

I was inspired by the theme of classic southern BBQ’s along with the patriotic color palette of Memorial Day events. I love the festive and casual feel of the design along with the bold typography.

I think these invites would have looked incredible if they were letterpress printed, although because of the limited budget I chose to instead incorporate a subtle texture in the background. This gives the feeling of textured paper, without raising the cost of the project.

The red envelopes were a fun addition, adding an extra pop of color to the invitation suite. Overall, I am really happy with how they turned out and they look great up on the fridge! Thanks again to Design Work Life for featuring them on their website.
