All Aboard the Smorgasboat!

After much anticipation, Smorgasboat arrived! Last night was the party cruise to celebrate the coming of summer and to benefit City Harvest, and what a beautiful night it was. We were thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful charity event, in the company of great sponsors and local Smorgasburg vendors.

It was our chance to debut our latest identity design and we were overcome with all the compliments. The event branding included a logo, save the date postcard, minisite, Facebook page, t-shirts, signage and even a custom hand stamp! The anchor and forked hot dog logo was definitely a hit, and it was so rewarding to see everyone with it stamped on their hand, as well as on posters all over the boat. From start to finish, the whole process was an absolute delight, we are so thankful to work with such great people.

The evening began with plenty of delicious food provided by Benchmarc Events by Marc Murphy, as well as Smorgasburg vendors Asia Dog, BK Salsa, NY Naturals, Pig & Egg and Sunday Gravy. The drink options were just as enticing, including Brooklyn Brewery, Reyka Vodka, Brooklyn Bridge Wine Bar and even Brooklyn Roasting Company’s famous coffee.

The DJ, URSULA 1000, kept the party going all night aboard the Smorgasboat, and the sunset stop in front of the Statue of Liberty was definitely one of the many highlights of the evening. The weather was on our side, and the sunset just kept getting better — we even got a chance to see the Enterprise space shuttle at the Intrepid.

After our tour up the Hudson (with a guest appearance by another East River Ferry boat), and back up the East River, we returned to N. Williamsburg and headed off to the King & Grove Williamsburg Rooftop Bar. What a view! We were greeted with a delicious specialty cocktail, and offered cotton candy. It was absolutely fantastic.

The entire evening aboard the Smorgasboat and beyond was magical. We really appreciate the positive response to the branding that we received, and we thank everyone involved for their support of City Harvest. It was an unforgettable experience. Be sure to check out more photos up on our Flickr photostream.
